Tim Hadler: Nashville, Branson, and the Winter Texan Expo
Tim Hadler was raised on a farm in the foothills of the volcano Mount Saint Helens in Washington State, the youngest of nine children. He jokes that his first audience was the cows he used to sing to on the farm.
Since those days of farming, he’s always loved to sing and dreamed of someday taking his talent to Nashville and beyond. It was never so much to be a “star” but to be able to help those in need–because he could. At the age of 10, he started having the calling to help, especially the lost and homeless. As a young lad, he’d wake up in the middle of the night hearing THE voice to “please help”! His influence in this came, he believes, from his family’s roots. His mother and father instilled in all of their children to help others in all you do. Giving out food baskets to the hungry during the holidays and being at the community’s beck and call for anything was a normal thing in his childhood that his mother and father never failed to deliver.
At the age of 20, Tim moved to Nashville, and two years later fulfilled a dream of singing on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry. This opportunity opened the door to many things, including landing a recording contract with a major producer in Nashville, landing two songs in the top 100 songs on the Music Row Chart, and an invitation to move to Branson, Missouri, to entertain. He’s been touring the country ever since and has been a Branson entertainer now for 24 years.
Tim is the founder of GUMI CAMP; GUMI stands for Glad U Made It, and it’s his opportunity to fulfill his childhood dream and help those most in need. GUMI specializes in helping America’s veterans. (To learn more about the Veterans Resources Center Tim founded, please go to gumicampusa.com.)
Tim currently performs over 100 shows a year in Branson, paying tribute to the legendary George Strait in Strait to Branson. When not performing in Branson, he winters in South Texas, performing shows on South Padre Island in the winter. In the spring and summer months, you may just happen to see him performing near–or in–your hometown, touring from Nashville to the Northwest to the Great Lakes area in Minnesota.
Though life gets busy, Tim never loses sight of his roots and returns every summer to spend precious time with his mother and siblings, camping and fishing in the foothills of Mount Saint Helens.
