Description
Come enjoy the birthplace of American Ranching! Hear all about how Richard King started the ranch that is still running today.
Tour Includes:
- Round-trip motorcoach transportation
- Guided tour of the King Ranch
- Private Chuckwagon lunch with chef
- Admission to the Henrietta Memorial Museum
- Stop in Downtown Kingsville at the King Ranch Saddle Shop with time to explore adjacent shops
Not included:
- Incidentals along the way
- Gratuities for the bus driver and tour guides
Tour Details:
- Departure time: 7:00 am-7:30 am. Return: 4:30 pm-5:30 pm
- Duration: 8-10 hours
- Transportation: Round-trip motorcoach. We will have an Upper and Lower Valley pick-up. If you have a group of 15 or more, we will pick you up from your park
- Upper Valley pickup location: Mission Economic Development Corporation, 801 Bryan Road, Mission
- Lower Valley pickup location: Texas Travel Information Center, 2021 W. Harrison Avenue, Harlingen
- Activity Level: Mild
- This tour requires you to be able to get yourself on and off a charter bus multiple times. Walking requirements are very minimal; through the museum, downtown Kingsville, and off the bus to the lunch location. Walkers and wheelchairs are fine to bring and you will be able to attend all activities with them. Full participation may require leisurely walking over uneven surfaces. If you need physical or mental assistance you must be traveling with someone able to assist you.
- Booking Cutoff: Subject to availability
Each tour has a different activity level. Below are descriptions of what you could expect based on the activity level of the tour.
- Mild: Primarily seated or leisurely paced activities, minimal walking or standing.
- Medium: Moderate walking and standing, some stairs or uneven terrain may be involved.
- High: Extensive walking, standing, and stairs; may include challenging terrain or strenuous activity.
- Extreme: Very strenuous activity, including long periods of hiking over rough terrain, steep inclines, and potentially hazardous conditions. Requires a high level of physical fitness.
Ticket/Booking Details:
This is a ticketless event. Please check in with the Welcome Home RGV host at the designated pick-up location. You will receive a detailed email with meeting locations and instructions. Tickets are non-refundable but transferable.
Please note that tour activities may be altered or canceled at any time due to reasons beyond our control. We will make every effort to provide comparable alternatives when possible. We reserve the right to modify the itinerary or substitute activities as necessary for the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
Payment
We can take any major credit card, checks or cash payments. Credit card payments are subject to a 3.5% processing fee. Checks can be made payable to Travel by Welcome Home RGV, and mailed to Welcome Home RGV at 219 W. Nolana, McAllen, Texas 78504. Please indicate your selected tour or cruise in the memo line.
Deposits & Final Payment
Each reservation is held with a deposit. Once your reservation is made, you will be notified of final payment dates.
All tours are non-refundable but transferable.
Cruises and Land & Sea packages have different rules that apply, please confirm with our office upon booking.
