Leslie Blasing – Rock-n-Roll, Storytelling, and a Touch of Craziness

Winter Texan Expo:  Main Stage, Tuesday, January 16 11:00 AM

High octane is the only description needed!  Leslie Blasing has been performing on South Padre Island at least five nights a week for 23 years.  Her shows are high energy with a whole lot of entertainment.

“I am here to have a fun time and enjoy the evening just like the rest of the people,” Leslie said.  “If the audience wants to join me, then that is just fantastic!”

Leslie is a full-time singer and entertainer and a transplant from San Antonio to SPI. Her musical career has taken her in all directions.  Singing with Michael Martin Murphy at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo was her kick-off to becoming a professional singer.  Later on down the road, she shared the stage with The Lynyrd Skynyrd Band for the SPI Roar by the Shore Bike Rally and with Reba McEntire at Caesar’s Palace in Lake Tahoe, to name just a few of the highlights of her career.  You can feel all of the influences from every category; style, genre, and age of music come through in her selection of songs.  Enjoying the intensity of rock-n-roll and then loving the storytelling of a great country song is where the diversity comes together, and when you add in a touch of craziness, you get Leslie!

In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, Leslie was named Female Vocalist of the Year – Valley Star Award for all of the Rio Grande Valley area of South Texas and earned the highly coveted Entertainer of the Year award for all of the Rio Grande Valley for 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Leslie is known for her stage productions–which she produces and is featured in–with costumes, lighting, and video.  Her production Music of the Time: WWII has been a sold-out success for several years in many venues around the country. Leslie’s Legends Show, which spans several decades and covers many genres and all-time favorite artists, has been a highly successful and entertaining show.  Women of Country Music was introduced in 2015 to rave reviews! The 2016-2017 Winter Texan season brought three new productions: East Coast to West Coast – Broadway to Hollywood, songs from musicals, The 60’s & 70’s Big Hits Show, and The History of Rock – n – Roll Production, which included a full band on stage and took audiences through six decades of Rock and Roll. The History of Rock – n- Roll included video and narrative about the songs and writers, and there were 1000 people in attendance to enjoy the show at the South Padre Island Convention Center.  Look for Leslie’s newest productions in 2018!

You can catch Leslie at several venues on the Island and throughout the Rio Grande Valley year round.  To learn more, visit lesliepresents.com and chuckandleslie.com.  For bookings, leave a message at 956-761- 4347.
