A wee Trip to Ireland: A Night of Celtic Music
About the Entertainer
I am a singer-songwriter, originally from Belfast Northern Ireland, but for the last 50 years I have lived in Winnipeg. For the past 2 years I have been performing a show of Irish music, from traditional numbers like “Danny Boy”, “I’ll Tell Me Ma”, and “Whiskey In the Jar”. I also add songs from more modern Celtic artists like Van Morrison, Horslips and Richard Thompson. As a singer songwriter I also include some original songs written in an Irish style, or theme.
I also perform a “Texas songwriter” show and do an entirely original show including songs I have written and performed with the all original band “Le Crazy” in Winnipeg.

Any information you’d like to share.: I started preforming professionally in the late 70’s is a series of rock bands. We played many venues across Manitoba including the CBC TV Show “Ten-Thirty Live.” In 1981 I started my teaching career, so I concentrated more on recording and writing than performing, though that was still part of my life. In the early 80’s I released a vinyl record. In the 90’s I was performing in a duo with Gord Miller, and during this period we recorded 5 or 6 albums.
When I retired from teaching, I started performing more again. Indeed, I was very happy to find such a vibrant music scene in the RGV. Here I have performed several shows and been involved in many jams. It was at these jams that I found other performers were encouraging me to go this route.
In Winnipeg I am a regular performer at the Getaway Cafe and have been asked to host Singer-Songwriter and Open Mic nights. I have also been doing the Texas Songwriter Tribute in small venues and in some House Concerts. For the last 3 years I have been writing and recording in Winnipeg with the band “Le Crazy”. Our songs can be found on YouTube on the Le Crazy Music channel.
I am the Entertainment director at our park and as such attended last year’s showcases.
