Spotted in the RGV: Mexican bluewing butterfly

The Mexican bluewing butterfly ranges can be found from South and Central America to Mexico but also in the Rio Grande Valley. This particular one was spotted at the National Butterfly Center in Mission. Dozens of species of butterflies take advantage of the center’s native plants and trees for food and shelter.
